Fantastic Powder in "Highly Illogical" |
Hi there! I wanted to share a quick tip I use to brighten up any outfit and help feel more festive for the holiday season...a great red lip! I know a lot of people find it tricky to find the right shade and it can be a little intimidating. I took a trip to Mac, and as much as I love drugstore makeup, it's really great to be able to try before you buy at the makeup counter. I ended up with 3 amazing lip options and a highlighter pallet to take me through this holiday season.
I went with blue-based reds since they make your teeth look whiter and brighter and tend to be the most universally flattering! What I didn't realize, is that I ended up with a lustre, a retro matte, & a crème sheen. If you have a Mac near you (mine was in Nordstrom), I highly recommend dropping in and playing with some shades! Cockney & Ruby Woo are the most beautiful classic reds! Cockney being a lustre, is a beautiful wash of color and can actually be layered over Ruby Woo if you want it to have a little more of a glossy effect. "Ruby Woo"on its own is probably my favorite. Last but not least, I had to add "Dare You" to the lineup. It has more of a burgundy hue, and is closest to the classic lipstick creaminess we all know. While browsing, I came across the Laura Gellar Gelato Swirl Illuminator pallet. The pallet comes with three stunning shades and a double ended sponge (not sure I'll choose this over a brush), but its a great deal to add to your makeup arsenal OR gift to a friend! I also must admit, that I love how the powders look like candies! The Star Trek makeup collection happened to be 40% off that day as well, and those Fantastic powders will be a stunning highlight, blush or eyeshadow. That's where that other compact in the picture came from. ;)
Grab one of these lipsticks, sweep on any of those highlighter shades ($30 for 3 is such a deal!) and you are ready for whatever holiday gatherings come your way!`
