Summer Layers

This look pretty much sums up the weather here in VA.  Layering is key, because you never know what you'll get!   These simple pieces are comfy & versatile.  Plus, I like pairing a little heel with shorts to dress things up a bit AND make me appear a bit taller (can't hurt!).  They're worth every penny, but if you want to save a little on the shorts and shoes, below is my 'splurge V save' comparing a couple options.  If you pick any up, let me know what you think!

1. Paige Denim 'Jimmy Jimmy' Shorts-It's taken me years to give shorts a fair shot ( I hated them for far too long) and these beauties are a big part of it!  These are incredibly comfortable and have great stretch.  They wash and wear beautifully.  I'm on the shorter side (5'4") so the 3 inch inseam is good for me!  A little money saving tip is to check Nordstrom Rack-I've found them for just under $50 two years in a row!

2. Old Navy Cuffed Denim Shorts- These cuties are a cotton, polyester, & spandex blend that come in light, dark, & medium washes.  These are a hidden gem.  I love the 3" inseam, while one of my best friends swears by the 'boyfriend' style.  Be on the lookout online and in-store,because Old Navy always has a sale. 

3. Dolce Vita 'Amina' Sandal- I'm a huge fan of Dolce Vita shoes-they are always comfortable and make a statement.  The version I'm wearing in the photos is Vince Camuto from last year, but I like that Dolce Vita has opted for a zipper over a buckle for their design.

4. DV 'Alyson' Peep Toe Bootie- If you can try these on, I recommend it.  They run true to size, but they do need to be broken in a bit.  They look fantastic, but are a bit stiff.
