A Weekend adventure in DC

This weekend I had the pleasure of taking a trip to DC.  It's only about 3.5 hours north of me, but I don't get there very often.  It was nice to take a leisurely approach this time; we ate well, met up with friends and visited "The Beach" exhibit at the National Building Museum.  If you haven't heard about it, it's your inner child's dream- A GIANT BALL PIT.  It was a blast, but a definite workout trying to get around in there.  If you're thinking about going, it's only up until Sept.7.  Check it out here

Saturday when we went to the ball pit I kept my outfit pretty casual.  My new Halogen T worked out a lot better than I expected and I can't say enough about Banana Republic Factory denim (I'm obsessed!)  The t-shirts are a little sheer, but this print was fine with a beige bra.

Last, but not least, there was the food.  We found some great places.  If you find yourself in or around DC, I highly recommend both Circa at Clarendon & Oyamel.  Keeping with Sunday Funday tradition, we had a brunch complete with Bellinis, Mimosas and bread pudding at Circa.  I of course stuck with Eggs Benedict (long standing favorite), but this variation had crab and asparagus;  Mmmmm .
Chesapeake Benedict & Blood Orange Bellini

Bread Pudding (came highly rec. and I now know why!)
This little beauty is the Salt Air Margarita.  It's genius!  True to the name, that froth has a salty flavor and takes the place of the famous and slightly messy salted rim.  Oyamel is the most amazing Tapas restaurant.  If you get nothing else, you must try the Quesadilla de Chicharrones.
