After seeing them all over Pinterest and raved about on countless blogs, I really thought it would be magic from the first step. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but there were a couple of things that no one ever mentioned! Because they're rubber, I had to get used to them during my first wear around. There is only going to be so much give around the ankles. I felt a little awkward in them, stiff really, but since that first time out, I've been good to go.
Before my first wear, I took them out of the box and was very discouraged when it looked like there was white powder on them. How on earth does this happen when they've been safe in their box?! Surprisingly, this is called "blooming" and is common to high-quality rubber. Who knew?! I opted for the Boot Shine, which is basically a little sponge/buffer with a solution inside that restores the boots original gloss/shine. For basic cleaning, I simply use soap and water. I'm probably going to purchase the Boot buffer spray for cleaning as well. It may sound like a lot of maintenance at first, but they're really worth it, and they take no time at all to clean. A little effort along the way, will keep your boots looking good for years, and with a $150 price tag, I want to make sure I make the most out of these beauties.

I'm really pleased with mine. There are a bunch of color and finish options; there's even a wedge style that I spotted on the Hunter website (very fun). Overall, I recommend these, but I see them as an investment, so have fun, take your time, and try on a few.
*Nordstrom and Hunter have not sponsored this post. These are my own opinions and I purchased the boots myself. :)
