Dressing Room Chronicles: Nordstrom Edition

T-shirt is from last year, but I adore this similar tee

Before I start this entry, I just want to say that Paris is in my thoughts.  I'm sending love and positive thoughts to everyone effected by such a tragedy.

The holidays are fast approaching!  After loading up on turkey and all the fixings, I know a lot of people are gearing up for some Black Friday sales.  There are going to be some great ones (like 50%  off at Old Navy).  If you're picking up any fashion items for yourself, I recommend (if your schedule allows) going out ahead of time and trying things on, so you how know how things fit and what you'll want to pick up, before the chaos of such a big shopping day.  Today, I just want to give you all a quick review of some items I tried out at Nordstrom recently.
The outfit above is what I find myself often wearing when I'm off to the mall.  Comfort is key for me, but I find that this outfit makes fitting room time go so much easier!  The long tee and sweater are actually from last year.  I'm in love with these Vince Camuto leggings and Louis et Cie ankle booties.  I picked them both up in July at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but the boots are on sale NOW (I've placed an order for the Pecan color; I love them that much).  They were a splurge item for me, but I'm definitely getting my money's worth.

Lush Shift Dress
I started off in the Juniors department (love the lower price points in this department).  First up, is this amazing swing dress.  I loved this in person, and online I hadn't been as crazy about it.  I have a casual black dress, so I actually went home and bought this in burgundy.  I love how flattering it is with its fitted sleeves and top, to accentuate your neckline and shoulders and then it skims the hips.  Great for all shapes & sizes!  Pair this with your favorite statement necklace and you're done.  $46 for a basic dress seemed reasonable and the fabric is substantial.

This swing top is so much fun and I don't feel my frame is overwhelmed by the mock neck as it can be in a turtleneck.  I actually tried this with my leggings and tucked in to a skirt (below).  The fabric had a great drape and of course I was immediately drawn to the burgundy/wine color.  I didn't take this home, I'm still thinking in over.  It's $28, but for some reason, it didn't call to me as much as some other pieces.

This is the same top tucked in.  This skirt  is a cute mini with an elasticized waist band in the back and buttons down the front.  I rarely wear skirts, but had I been serious, I would have tried a size up, as my usual size pulled a little around the pockets (hence why I hate pockets on garments like this).  This is another great sale piece though, and is only $22.80 right now.
BP Pullover

BP Pocket Cardigan
I'm a sucker for sweaters and these two are (you know I scooped these up) so cozy and easy to wear.  The top sweater has a split in the bottom, and the back is a little longer.  I loved the Olive color.  It was regular price, but a very reasonable $38.  The cardigan is so soft and a great piece over a pencil skirt or sheath dress.  They call it Burgundy online, but to me it leans more towards plum.  I could lounge around the house in this and probably will!

I'd just like to say, that I love the dressing room set up in this department.  You can hang everything staggered and put outfits together with ease.

Lastly, I went downstairs and found this fun tunic.  I was drawn to the asymmetrical  hem and how soft it was, but I wasn't sure I loved it as much as the last two.  Though I love the uniqueness, something just seemed off about it.  It is 40% off currently ($38.40 from $64).  I'm going to keep an eye on this over Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  If it's still on my mind, I know it's a keeper.  Definitely a lot more colors online than in my local store.

I hope you found this helpful!
