Columbus Day Sales & Dressing room recap

It's finally starting to feel like Fall!  Break out those boots and let the layering begin!  With Monday being Columbus Day, there are some great sales going on!  I'm going to share some here and talk briefly about some of the pieces I found.  If you're just here to peak at the sales, I'm going to go ahead and list them first.  Happy reading! :)

The Limited- 50% off Full-price items & an extra 40% sale if you shop online
They are always a go-to place for quality work apparel.  I tried on a couple of pieces (below), but it just wasn't my day.  Nonetheless, if you need some new work wear and great blazers, I  recommend taking a peak.  I did have them order me an adorable grey skirt.  It's online only, but the stores can order them to ship to your house, and you don't pay shipping (yes!)
My top picks:  Floral wrap dress -such a universally flattering shape & the print is petite friendly
Ribbed Oversize Sweater-Love the unique collar and open sides
Classic 1 button blazer-Beautiful statement colors; great way to brighten up a Fall look.

Joe Fresh-30% off when you spend $75 (code: Columbus30)
Great quality basics.  I don't have a store near me, but I love browsing them online.  Their sales are phenomenal deals!
Mixed Print Silk Blouse-The star of the outfit with basic skinny jeans and a tan or brown wedge, or office appropriate with a neutral pencil skirt.  Throw on the Classic blazer from The Limited in that amazing Hunter green.

J Crew Factory-50% off Men's & Women's & 40% off kids-in store and online
Flannel Button-down-I live in mine!  Soft like pajamas, but stilled pulled together.
Pleated Mini Skirt-Such an easy piece.  It says "mini", but try it on.  I'm 5'4" and I find that a number of retailers use this term, but they're usually great mid-thigh or slightly longer for petites and they'll work in an office.

Banana Republic Factory-50% off the whole store in store & online (online code-HALFOFF)
Black & White Crossbody Bag- Sophisticated & this will be with you for years
Probably my favorite place to shop.  They just get my style!  Sign up for their emails, because they are always sending coupons that work with the sales.

Fitting Room Chronicles

Found it online too-even in different colors !

Forever 21- Though Forever 21 wasn't really having a big sale, they are always a deal & have marked down some items.  There are always hidden gems in this store & that's what draws me in.  I wanted a nice Cable knit sweater, but just couldn't spend a small fortune.  This beauty was only $19.90 and you know it came home with me.  Here I'm wearing it with leggings, but I envisioned it with a skirt or my favorite skinny jeans and Cognac beauties.  I loved the length of the body and the sleeves.  Nice big knit, but not enough to require a tank underneath.  Hand wash and lay to dry, which I can totally do (dry clean only, makes me hesitate).

I may go back for this piece.  This is regular sizing, but petite friendly.  It's a chic and sophisticated piece that would add such easy glamour to any skirt or trouser.  So easy to throw over any blouse, tee or tank.  It comes in both an Oatmeal color and a Dusty Rose, but on the site they simply call them "tan" and "pink".   Really loving how this piece pops.

I'm a sucker for Burgundy and Wine colors, so I went straight to this blouse!  With most of these blouses, I would have benefited from Petite sizing.  They offer it on many pieces, but only online. The plaid was fun, but it stayed in the store, as the fit wasn't the best for me.

This blouse is so beautiful in person.  I hesitated, because the sleeves were a bit long on me (pulled them up a bit for the photo) and the colors were a little too bold for my complexion.

I hope you enjoyed reading and please feel free to leave any comments or tips.  :)
