What a whirlwind of a week! I was on vacation last week and had a 3-day sales meeting to start this week off. It was the perfect "staycation", but there's always that little adjustment period to get back in to the work flow. I just had to share this outfit with you from my first day of meetings! It was so comfortable, classic, and received a ton of compliments! I gave it a little steam out of my suitcase before wearing, and it looked great all day. These pieces are timeless (you'll definitely be seeing this button-down in future posts) and these menswear inspired heels were love at first sight.
No matter if you're a minimalist or a collector of clothes, a classic white button down is one of the most versatile pieces, and I can't recommend it enough. This one, had a figure flattering cut and was trimmed on the cuffs, collar, & down the front in black. I love this fun little addition, but in classic colors, it doesn't lose any of its versatility. Paired here it's perfect for the office, but you could take this same shirt and shoes and add some distressed denim for an on trend casual look.
This skirt received more compliments than I could have imagined. I'm personally a huge fan of plaid and it's a classic print that you'll have forever! This skirt is so soft, lined, and I never once found myself fidgeting or adjusting my outfit, which I always do in skirts. I loved the subtle red in the print, which adds the perfect "something extra" to a look based on classic colors & prints.
Last, but not least, are these amazing slingback heels from Nordstrom Rack. I find myself strolling their shoe department far too often. I will admit, it took me two trips to buy these, as they are a little pricey in my book ($129). I'm so glad I talked myself in to these! I can rock these year-round with the exception of only those couple snowy months (Eastern VA is pretty mild). These are menswear inspired and a truly comfortable shoe by Via Spiga. You have to love a good block heel for their sturdiness, and this type of heel has a much longer lifespan than many other types. As far as my other accessories, I kept it simple, and finished the look with a classic gold watch and some gold-tone studs.
I hope this look inspired you to break out some of your classic pieces and show them some love!
